The Meherrin River Trail Ride concept began early in 2009 with an idea from Sarah Weeks. The blood, sweat and ticks followed shortly. With the help of Sarah, Scott, Teresa, Chuck, Cindy, Dale, Savannah and many more the first ride was in November, 2009. The trail ride now serves as a fundraiser for the Boykins Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad.
The Trail Ride is held on the Meherrin River off of Route 35 approximately one mile south of the Virginia state line, just north of Severn, NC. There are over 24 miles of trails to be explored and primitive camping is available. The trails range from easy to more of a challenge. Bridges have been added for some of the harder ditches but you still can elect to go through the ditch if you feel brave.
We also allow trail dogs on the trail. If your dog is trail savvy, we welcome him/her to come. We will not tolerate annoying dogs. It is our goal for everyone to have a fun and entertaining weekend. Please come and join us for the upcoming ride and experience nature at its finest on this beautiful farm.
Registration fees are $30 per rider which includes the Saturday night meal. Separately, the Saturday night meal ticket is $15.
Children 6 and under ride free. The Saturday night meal ticket for children 6 and under is $10.
